Sarah Roden Obituary
Sarah "Sally" Roden, 79, of Van Buren passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, at a local hospital. She was a snack bar manager at Walmart. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and square dancing. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith and a member of First Help Ministry and 60 Plus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Roden; and both parents, Ray and Sarah J. (Blakely) Easton.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Fort Smith with burial at Dyer Cemetery, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
She is survived by two daughters, Dee Welch of Fort Worth, Texas, and Cheryl Ann Wiles of Barling; three sisters, Sidney Cheryl Dunson of Tulsa and Jane Ann Sturgeon and Mary Leigh Taylor, both of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Brittney Wiles, Krystina Davis, Jessica Mosley, Matthew Welch and Cody Wiles; numerous nieces and nephews; and many adopted grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cody Wiles, Matthew Welch, Brooks Trotter, Michael Roden, Eric Cooksey, John Flynn, Corbin Dishner and Aaron Dunson.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Tom Gray's Sunday school class.
Family will visit with relatives and friends 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2019, at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson St., Van Buren.
