Funeral Service for Steven Carl Peterson, 57 of Spiro, Oklahoma will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Spiro, Oklahoma with Reverend Shawn Caldwell, Mister John Redwine, and Reverend Kevin Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Spiro City Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro, Oklahoma.
He was born on January 18, 1964 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Vernetta (Krogh) Peterson and LaVern Peterson and passed away on June 13, 2021 in Spiro, Oklahoma. He was married to Kristie (Cruikshank) Peterson on August 21, 1993 in West Fork, Arkansas. Steve was preceded in death by his dad, LaVern "Pete" Peterson. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Spiro, Oklahoma. Steve was a very familiar face at Spiro Bulldog sporting events as he ran the clock for the Spiro Basketball teams for 28 years. He was an avid Bulldog fan especially when his son was on the field or court. Steve loved his family but most of all he loved being a Dad to his boys.
Survivors include his wife, Kristie Peterson; sons, Braxton Lee Peterson, Dawson Leonard Peterson; mother, Vernetta Peterson; brother, Kevin Peterson and wife Melissa numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Peterson, Daran Johnson, Kyle Cruikshank, Greg Duncan, Russell Wilson, Pat Garner, Brian Brooks, and Doug Harper.
Viewing will be Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 12:00pm -7:00pm with the family greeting friends from 5:00pm - 7:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
