Joshua Layne Kanagy, 13, of Wytheville, Va. passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, as a result of a UTV accident. Born on March 21, 2010, in Wythe County, Va. he was the son of Titus and Beulah (Peachey) Kanagy. He was loved by his parents and siblings, Christopher, Deidrich, Abigail, and Elizabeth. Also surviving is his maternal grandmother Mary Peachey of Mifflin Pa. and paternal grandmother Ann Kanagy of McVeytown Pa. and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandfathers Henry Peachey and Aquilla Kanagy.

Joshua had a bright, cheerful outlook, and was a friend to many, especially his classmates of the Light of Hope Christian School where he attended for all eight years of his school life. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and hiking. He was industrious and always ready to put his heart into the task at hand. His presence will be sorely missed in the home, church, school, and community. The family wishes to thank the Speedwell Fire Dept., Wythe Co. Rescue, and the Wythe Co. Sheriff's Dept. for their professional assistance, and the many friends, neighbors, and church family who have shared with love and prayers, visits, food, flowers and much more.

The family will receive friends on Sat. March 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral at 10 a.m. Sun. March 24 Visitation and funeral held at Light of Hope Christian Fellowship 858 New Bethel Rd, Wytheville, Va. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
