May 8, 1950 - November 25, 2024
Walter Rodney Foglesong, passed peacefully in his sleep on November 25, 2024. He was born in Washington County, VA, on May 8, 1950. He is proceeded in death by his parents Walter T. and Hazel Webb Foglesong; brother and sister-in-law Roger and Freida Foglesong; and a grandson Matthew Brian Pennington. He enjoyed farming, he was born and lived on a farm all of his life. You couldn't get him off of a tractor. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church in Rural Retreat.
Rodney is survived by his wife of 38 years Minnie Ailene Fortune Foglesong; three children Mary Jolene and Dale Harris of Cleveland, TN, Ruth Darlene and Michael Pennington of Rural Retreat, VA, and Amanda Thomas and Dustin Bentley of Rural Retreat, VA; grandchildren Victoria Michaelchuck and Caleb Bonilla of Cleveland, TN, Xavier Harris and Alexia Roark of Cleveland, TN, Hailey Michaelchuck of Cleveland, TN, Renee and Joseph Holcomb of Hamptonville, NC, Tara Lowrimore and Nate Blevins of Chilhowie, VA, BreAnna Thomas and Jake Honaker of Roanoke, VA, Ashleigh Thomas of Chilhowie, VA, Joseph Thomas of Chilhowie, VA; and great-grandchild Axel Harris of Cleveland, TN.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 2 p.m., at Lindsey Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Linkous officiating. Interment will follow service at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, at the Lindsey Funeral Home.
Serving as Pallbears are Dale Harris, John Davis, Dustin Bentley, Nate Blevins, Xavier Harris, and Shawn Cross.
