Jeanette B. Rice July 14, 2021 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Jeanette B. Rice, of Syracuse, NY. She was a loved mother, Mimi and friend. She passed away peacefully at the age of 74, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday. Jeanette was born October 16, 1946 in Norwich, NY to her parents, William P. and Lucy H. Briggs. She was the granddaughter of Dr. Blin and Isabelle Harris. Jeanette was a graduate of St. Paul's School in 1960, Norwich High School in 1964, and Fisher Junior College in 1966. She lived in Syracuse for 42 years where she made her career at S.O.S. for 33 years. Devoted to her family and friends, Jeanette was a caring soul who loved to laugh and make meaningful memories. She enjoyed playing tennis, pickle ball, traveling and gardening. She spent many years volunteering at Planned Parenthood and the American Cancer Society in Norwich. Predeceased by her parents, Jeanette is survived by her three adoring children, Renee (Jeffrey) Fragale, Jennifer (Erik) Boergesson and Christopher (Maggie) Rice; grandchildren, Jordan and Jacob Fragale, Brigham and Chloe Boergesson and Lia Rice; and her cousins, Brenda B. Griffing and Sue B. Lewis. Services will be private. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Dear Renee, Jen and Chris, Wish we had the words to describe how sorry we were to hear about the loss of your mother. Jeanette was a special lady. Memories of her go back to the days when you were small children and we were navigating the "parent waters". I think being your mother and later a grandmother were her happiest times. She was so proud of all of you and your families. Your devotion to her was a testimonial to the kind of mother she was. Her beautiful smile, her wonderful laugh, her humor, her love for all of you will be with you forever. Cherish the memories, may they bring you comfort. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul. Rest In Peace Jeanette. With love and our deepest sympathies, Linda and Ray

It was with great sadness that I read of the passing of your Mom. Although I only had the pleasure of seeing her at her six-month dental appointments, I considered her a friend. She always looked stunningly beautiful with her radiant smile and never missed an opportunity to inquire about the families of our team. In turn, she loved to share the lasted updates on her family. It was obvious that she was so incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren. She was such a kind soul and will be greatly missed. Blessings to your family.

Jeanette was a member of the SOS family for so many years and will continue to be for years to come. We will always see her smile, hear her soft voice and remember how committed , caring and passionate she was. She made SOS a better place and helped us care for our patients.
