Joseph G. Mauro, Sr. January 18, 2019 Joseph G. Mauro, Sr., 85, of Liverpool, passed away Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his family. A life resident of Syracuse, Joe retired as Owner and Operator of Salt City Works, LTD. He was a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church and a member of the IACC. He was predeceased by his wife, Judy in 2013; and step-daughter, Debra Ann Washburn in 1980. Mr. Mauro is survived by two daughters, Linda (Ronald) Kotowski of Liverpool and Karen (William) Jones of Cicero; five sons, Joseph Jr.(Gail) of Clay, Martin (Erin) of North Syracuse, James (Kristine Tobin) of Mattydale, George (Aracely) of Ocala, Florida, and Carmen (Rebecca) of Liverpool; step-son, David Washburn of Georgia; sisters, Mary Bailey of Syracuse and Angie (John) Lundy of East Syracuse; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 22nd, 11:15 a.m. at FARONE & SON Inc Funeral Home and 12 NOON at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 21st from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse.
