Born in Allentown, PA, Bill was a graduate of Syracuse Central High School, where his impressive baseball talent left a lasting impression on teammates and the community. Following high school, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961 before continuing his service in the Marine Corps Reserves.
Bill dedicated 40 years of service as the UAW Local 624 benefits representative at New Process Gear, retiring in 2005. Throughout his career, he was known for his commitment to helping others, frequently leading informative classes for employees on their benefits and retirement preparation.
A passionate supporter of youth and community, Bill coached several Marcellus youth baseball teams for many years. He was a beloved coach who made everyone feel welcome, leaving a lasting impact on the young athletes he mentored.
Bill was also an active member of the Camillus Elks Club and the Marine Corps League in Cicero. He had a lifelong love of sports, enjoying many years on the golf course and previously playing baseball with the Split Rock Red Birds.
Bill will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his work, his community, and his unwavering kindness toward others. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Katherine Nesfeder; and sisters, Delores McLeod and Joan White.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Joyce; daughter, Dawn (Mike) Pileski; sons, Mark (Lynn) Nesfeder and Kevin (Donna) Nesfeder; grandchildren, Rachel Nesfeder, Erica (Chris) Johnson, Alan (Rachel Madjerac) Nesfeder, and Jessica, Michael, and Courtney (Kaylie) Pileski; great-grandchildren, Scarlett Sanchez, Grayson Mallaro, and Riley Johnson; sister, Nancy Clements; and several loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff at St. Joseph's Hospital for the compassionate and attentive care they provided to Bill. They are also deeply thankful to Cindy, Cathy, and Shauna for the kindness, comfort, and dedicated support they gave Bill in his home. A special thank you is extended to Nunn's Home Medical Equipment for their prompt attention and assistance, which meant so much during this time.
