Joyce Love Obituary
Joyce Love
March 25, 1936 - October 28, 2025
Joyce Arlene Love was called home to Jesus peacefully in her sleep on October 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Joyce lived her life as a reflection of her deep Catholic faith, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Born on March 25, 1936 in Eaton, Colorado to Jennings and Evelyn Mason. Joyce shared 65 blessed years of marriage with her beloved husband, Donald R. Love, who preceded her in death, along with their son Donald R. Love, Jr. Together, they built a legacy of love, faith, and family that continues through their children Michael Love, John "Joe" Love, and Susan Erickson and their families.
Joyce worked for Rose Marie Reid, a renowned swimsuit designer, where she often modeled the swimsuits Reid created. After she and Don started their family, Joyce devoted her time to raising their children. She was active in the PTA and served as both a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. Once the children were grown, she earned her insurance license and joined Don in his insurance agency.
Joyce loved entertaining friends and family and was an avid fisherwoman. Whether trolling Lake Cachuma with Don on their weekly Friday fishing dates or fly fishing from her float tube in the lakes of Utah, her love for fishing was unmistakable.
Joyce was a devoted member of the Women's Club at Old Mission Santa Inés, where she generously gave her time to support the parish community. Each year, she could be found working diligently at the BBQ during the annual Fiesta. Her dedication and joyful spirit made her a beloved presence at every event.
Joyce's greatest joy was her family. She was the proud grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of nineteen - each one a precious gift she held in prayer. Her home was a place of laughter, warmth, and faith.
Rooted in her Catholic faith, Joyce found peace and strength through prayer, the Rosary, and the Sacraments. Her faith guided her every day - a quiet example of trust in God's plan and a steadfast belief in eternal life.
A Rosary will be held in her honor at Old Mission Santa Inés on November 23, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will take place at Old Mission Santa Inés on November 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Ballard, California.
