Thanks for the advice Dr Hatcher gave me when I had my open heart surgery. His words were if the Dr in Albany doesn’t say what you want to hear, call me and we will have a bed ready at Emory. Mr Sapp had advised me to call him. Best call I ever made!! With Dr Hatcher’s advice and the good Lord I was at peace going into surgery. I will always be grateful. God Bless

I first meet Dr. Hatcher in 1963. I was one of the older "Blue Baby's" he worked on in his early years at Emory. I enjoyed knowing him and talking with him through the years. The last time I saw him was in 2017 after my heart transplant at a reception for Dr. Clements. We were reminiscing about all the times we had meet and the progress of open heart surgery over the years. He was a remarkable man and will be missed.
