Glenda Taylor Obituary

Glenda F. Brannen Taylor Glenda Faye Brannen Taylor, 58, formerly of Lake City, died Friday morning, Aug. 5, 2005, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, after an extended illness. A celebration of her life will be at 1 p.m. EDT Monday at the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3596 S. Highway 441, Lake City (386-752-1954), with the Rev. Mike Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. EDT Sunday at the funeral home. Visitors may sign the guestbook at www.gatewayforestlawn.com. Born in Starke, Mrs. Taylor lived and grew up in Lake City and was a graduate of Columbia High School. She was married to Lt. Col. Paul B. Taylor of the Florida Highway Patrol, who has been retired for 42 years. They had lived in many locations throughout Florida. She enjoyed many outdoor activities and traveling with her husband. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband, Paul Taylor; a son, Paul Taylor Jr. of Tallahassee; a daughter, Cynthia Noland (and husband Steven) of Waynesville, N.C.; her mother, Fayree Brannen of Lake City; a brother, Faris Brannen (and wife Betty) of Frostproof; a sister, Cleone Ratliff of Lake City; two grandchildren, Caitlin and Travis Noland, both of Waynesville; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death in 1984 by her father, Cleve Faris Brannen. Glenda has begun a journey into a place where there is no pain, and she is rewarded for her unfailing love and devotion to all those in her life.
