James A. "Jimmy" Sharman of Altha, Florida passed away January 22, 2016 at Margaret Dozier Hospice House, he was born November 10, 1933 to Joe Brown Sharman, Sr. and Annie Myers Sharman. Jimmy was a veteran of the US National Guard, and the US Navy. He retired from National Airlines in 1981 after 27 years of service then he managed three commuter airlines from 1981 until 1988 then going to Print Shack and retired in 1998. He was a member of the Hasty Pond Baptist Church in Marianna, Fl.
Jimmy was a resident of Tallahassee, Florida from 1942 until he moved to Altha in 2010.
He was predeceased by his parents and his wife of 49 years Ruby Hardy Sharman. He is survived by his wife Vetta Hall Sharman; one son Jimmy Ray Sharman and his wife Pat of Thomasville, Ga; two daughters, Jovon Sharman Runkle of Havana, Fl. and Jenene Sharman Adair and her husband Tommy of Crawfordville, Fl; one stepdaughter Kathy Ellis Hartenstein and her husband Rick of Lake Panasoffkee, Fl.; five grandchildren, Delanna Sharman Clendenin and her husband Rob of Thomasville, Ga., Natasha Runkle Murphy and her husband Sean of Huntsville, Al., Jason Runkle of Tallahassee, Jessica Adair Stephens and her husband Donald of Crawfordville, Fl., Daniel Adair of Tallahassee and two step grandchildren Savannah Hartenstein Holloway and her husband Jacob of Brooksville, Fl., and Mason Hartenstein of Lake Panasoffkee, Fl; six great grandchildren, Jackson Clendenin, Laine Clendenin, Trevor Runkle, Ryan Stephens, Ruby Stephens, Taylor Stephens, Hannah Murphy; and two step great grandchildren Cody Stephens, Nolyn Stephens and Gatlin Holloway; three brothers, Bobby Sharman and his wife Joanie of Crawfordville, Joe Sharman and his wife Pat of Tallahassee and Paul (Buddy) Sharman and his wife Judy of Tallahassee; two sisters, Joann Sharman Hilaman and Judy Sharman Sessions both of Tallahassee, and one brother in law Roy Hardy and his wife Jeanie of Tallahassee; sisters in law Nora Hardy Crosby of Tallahassee, Mildred Sewell and Pauline Newsome of Panama City, Fl. and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 25th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Bevis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at11:00 a.m. at Bevis Funeral Home, with burial following at Roselawn Cemetery with Military Honors.
