Jay Edward Thompson Obituary

Jay Edward Thompson and Carrie Ann Thompson Jay Edward Thompson, 38, and wife Carrie Ann Nobles Thompson, 36, of 131 Canopy Court, Mooresville, N.C., died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, as a result of an accident. The service will be at 3 p.m. EDT today at Beggs Funeral Home Monticello Chapel (850-997-5612), with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. A visitation will be from 1 p.m. EDT until the service at the funeral home. Jay Edward Thompson was born March 28, 1968, in Omaha, Neb., the son of George W. Thompson and Sharon Dove Thompson. He was formerly employed by Robert Yates Racing Inc. for five years and recently had started working for Breedlove Motorcycles in Greenville, S.C. He loved motorsports, motorcycles and cars and loved to travel. He was a graduate of Northwest High School in Omaha, where he had played football. He also attended Milford Industrial College and Iowa Community College. In Omaha, he owned and operated J.E.T. Engineering. He is survived by his parents, George W. and Sharon Thompson of Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Terri Sayler of Nacogdoches, Texas; his grandmother, Mildred Dove of Sioux City, Iowa; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Carrie Ann Nobles Thompson was born Aug. 9, 1969, in Madison, the daughter of Olan Nobles and Debra Sparks N. Bass. She had worked as a manager of several restaurants in the area, including Burger King in Mooresville and Bojangles in Spencer, N.C. She had attended Jefferson County High School and graduated from West Davidson High School in Florida, where she was an all-star basketball player. She was very athletic, had a great personality, loved riding motorcycles and loved to travel. She is survived by her father, Olan Nobles of Monticello; her mother, Debra Sparks Bass of Madison; a son, Austin Ard of Lexington, N.C.; a daughter, Amber Ard of Lexington; two sisters, Deborah Hayes of Mount Airy, N.C.s and Michelle Marsh of Paisley; her grandmother, Pauline Fender of Madison; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Carrie was one of my best friends, and although we didn't keep in touch in recent years, I have thought of her often. She will always live in my memories.
