Joshua Crowder Obituary

Joshua Crowder

Our beloved son, Joshua Crowder, 18, a resident of Tallahassee, FL passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016.

He was born in Tallahassee, FL to Bruce and Melanie Crowder on March 16, 1998.

He was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he was very involved in the youth group and an honor student at Lincoln High School. On many days, one could find Joshua in the community bagging groceries at Publix, volunteering at VBS, serving residents through Meals on Wheels, devoting time to Children's Home Society, and lending a hand at Second Harvest, just to name a few. He was an avid XBOX gamer where he sought out people who enjoyed his passion of computers.

Joshua was scheduled to attend Florida Polytechnic University in the fall where he was going to study Computer Science. He looked forward to being a part of such a rich environment where he would learn more about his chosen field of study.

Throughout his young life, Joshua never failed to look deeper into the world around him. He did not accept the obvious, but rather wanted to know the Why or How of everything. He was consumed with historical facts and marveled at the simplest of inventions. Joshua's gifts were centered around the academics where he excelled throughout his life. He was adored by all who met him and received frequent words of affirmation concerning his abilities.

Joshua is survived by his parents, Bruce and Melanie Crowder, his sister, Annika Crowder, two grandfathers, Dan Crowder and Wilbur Gay, 2 aunts Kelly (Glen) Seay and Angela (Jose) Alea, 1 uncle, Carey Gay, and 5 cousins, Luke, Lawson, Diego, Lilly Kate, and Bella.

Joshua was preceded in death by his two grandmothers Gail Crowder and Nancy Gay.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 3:00pm at Immanuel Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the JOSHUA CROWDER SCHOLARSHIP FUND by making checks payable to:

He was a part of my church family and my classmate. I remember him as a hardworking, creative, Christan man, I saw a bright future in him. I'm deeply saddened to hear this news, I saw him smiling just two weeks ago, I never imagined something like this could happen in the community, let alone someone I knew. As to the family, you raised him up well, my prayers will be with you, thank you for him.
