Kelvin Peoples Obituary
Kelvin Dwan Peoples, 39, son of Catherine Rollins-Horne and Freddie L. Peoples, Jr., native of Quincy, resident of Tallahassee, died Wednesday, February 15th at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He attended the public schools of Gadsden County, was a graduate of James A. Shanks High School, Class of 1990, furthered his education at Florida A&M University, Lively Barbering School and became a Master Barber. He was co-owner of Orange Avenue Barber Stylist, Tallahassee.
His early spiritual guidance and leadership was provided by his late maternal grandfather, Bishop Cleve Rollins, Pastor, The Glorious Holiness Church of Jesus, and later attended The Greater Love Church of Christ.
Funeral Services, will be Thursday, February 23rd, 11 a.m., at Tabernacle COCWIH, with burial in St. Paul Cemetery, Gretna. Visitation is Wednesday, February 22nd, 5 to 8 p.m. Madry Memorial Funeral Chapel, Quincy, in charge of arrangements (850-875-2665).
Additional to his parents, he is survived by devoted friends, children, sisters, brothers, paternal grandmother, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, business partner, other relatives and friends.

Kelvin was my cousin whom I loved When they were small kids. I was the one who would take them to get there hair cut. Sometimes when we left the Barbar Shop we would go get some ice cream. I Thank God for my cousin. It's good to know Kelvin's Fiancee prepared this wesite to hold on to Kelvin's Legacy. I do pray God keep Raquista and the children with many Blessings and the desires of their heart. Kelvin will always be in our Hearts & never be forgotten. God Bless The Family!!

Kelvin was a great friend to me. We talked about everything from cars to life and my life is better for our friendship. I will especially miss talking sports, as he was the person that introduced me to FAMU football games, showed me all the spots, and refused to quit supporting the Jaguars, no matter how many times I tried to convince him . It seems like we were only friends for a short while, but for a better friend I couldn't ask. My prayers are with his family and loved ones, as he will be truly missed.

My prayers and condolence for Kelvin's family in your time of need. I met Kelvin at Mr. Jerry's shop about 6 years ago...he cut my son's hair and ever since, my son has only wanted Kelvin cutting his hair.
I couldn't believe it when I heard the news. I am so sorry for your loss! God bless-

To Kelvins family I just learned of His Passing I couldnt Believe it I had just Talked him Shortly before he passed didnt even Believe wat I was Reading I will trully miss him he was like a brother to me we met about 6 yrs ago when i was living in Tallahassee and became the Best of friends while he was working at Jerrys Barbershop He and Jerry called me Mr Miami If it wasnt for Kelvin i wouldnt have joined the Army In Reality Kelvin saved me. I will never foreget Kelvin I loved him like a brother.

I can agree with everyone. Kelvin was ALWAYS very calm, cool, respectful, and just a great person when I would see him. We met him when he was working at Jerry's and my dad John Butler referred me to take my son to him. He was the first master barber to cut my son's hair (at 3yrs) and he was still his master barber at the age of 8.
My son always perferred Kelvin over any other barber. I even referred Kelvin to my husband when he was looking for a master barber in Tallahassee.
Mom/dad: You raised a GREAT son and please be very proud of the son that God gave you and the man, father that he became.
Children: Please recount the many good times that you all shared with you dad and know that he was a great dad and loved you all with all his heart. I can not understand how you all must feel and I pray that God Almighty gives you and the family the strength that you need to heal.

My heart was saddened to hear the news of the passing of Kelvin. He was the barber to my grandson, and was truly a "Master Barber". His smile, demeanor, respectfulness, and patience to deal with young children made each visit memorable. I am thankful for the conversations we shared about life, his ambitions,love for his mother, children and family. Not many young men attest to their love for Christ, and witness it during conversations in the Barber Shop! I will miss the opportunity of sharing, but remember Kelvin's passion about learning from life's lessons, and having the opportunity to "get it right". My grandson will always remember his "First Barber".
