Lemmie Deliford Obituary
Dr. Lemmie Deliford, Sr., 83, longtime Miami-Dade educator passed in Miami FL, on Thursday, September 10, 2015. Graveside services with military honors are 3 p.m. TODAY in Mt. Zion AME (Glades) Cemetery, Havana, FL. TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950) is serving the family. Dr. Deliford was born in Cuthberth, GA and grew up in Miami. He received his B.S. degree from FAMU, Master's from the University of Miami and his Ph.D. at Colombia Pacific University. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1955. The consummate educator, he retired in 1992 from the Miami-Dade County School District. His love and legacy will be forever treasured by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carol "Betty" Anderson Johnson Deliford; sons, Antonio V. "Tony" Johnson, Sr., and the Reverend Lemmie Deliford, Jr., and his grandson, Antonio Johnson, Jr.
