Lucille Brown Obituary
Tallahassee - Lucille Holliday Brown at the age of 97 passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019. Born May 15, 1922 in Tallahassee to Dallis & Claudia Baldwin. She was preceded in death by her parents and 9 siblings.
Lucille married George (Rabbit) Holliday in 1941 and James Brown in 1979. Both husbands preceded her in death.
Lucille was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. She also was a charter member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. Both of these institutions were very dear to her.
Lucille is survived by her son, Lee Duval Holliday (Patricia); two grandchildren, Jhamal Holliday and Symone Holliday and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Bethel A.M.E. Church with burial at Greenwood Cemetery.
The Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority service will be Friday, August 30, 2019 at 5:30 P.M. followed by a wake service 6 to 7 P.M. at Strong & Jones Funeral Home Chapel, 629 W. Brevard Street.

I was blessed with the opportunity to not only meet Ms. Brown but to also help care for her for the last 4 years. She was always happy no matter what. Loved to sing and dance. Listening to her stories about FAMU and her being a part of history. On the behalf of Woodmont. You will be truly missed and there will never be another so genuine and uplifting as you.
