By the way Jr, you never got the chance to meet your cousin Ja'nya.

I was pregnant with her when you died, remember? You said it looked like a watermelon. Well anyway, she's beautiful, and I'm sure that you two would have been crazy about each other. I'm gonna make sure that she's aware of you.

I'll never forget when I met Shawn, or "Jr." as family called him, I was eight, and he was annoying! Espescially since everyone accused us of looking alike as kids. Despite that, I did love him, and I remember fondly all the fun we had as children, playing in my parents backyard. I'll always laugh when I think of family trips and how he would jump in with his bags at the last minute, especially since no one had seen him for days on end. Everyone always would ask where he was, no one knew, we knew he was around somewhere though. He never let me down when it came to sharing a laugh about the dumb things we did as kids. I'll always think of you fondly Jr, always missing you, but knowing that you have found peace and rest, I'll always regret not being able to tell you this, even though I'm sure somehow you knew, I just wish that I could've told you good-bye. Not sure we've ever said this to one another being cousins and all, but I love you and you are deeply missed...I know that one day we will meet again.

Shawn... you will always be my best friend. I think about you every day when i look at your picture. I will always remember all of the times at "the house" when we would lay on the futon and watch soap opera's until the late hours of the morning(after being up all night). You will always be my favorite! I love you and I look forward to seeing you again in my dreams....

Shawn's warm smile and infectious laughter will be missed by us all. I'm thankful he's at peace. It's a shame that he was with us on earth for such a short time. He will always be remembered. May the Lord be with his family and friends through this trying time.
