SMITH, Dr. Aaron Ph.D. born June 30, 1937 in Orlando, Florida, entered into Heaven November 19, 2021. Dr. Smith is former professor at University of South Florida for 15 years and former professor at Stanford University Hospital for over 20 years. He was a member of Allen Temple AME Church in Tampa and formerly of St. James AME in San Jose, CA. He was debonair, charming, charismatic, joyful and spiritual. Always lending a hand and a word of wisdom to all he would meet. Everyone who would meet him would come to love him. Everyone who came in touch with him was in the presence of sheer intelligence and kind heartedness. He is survived by daughters, Angela Smith Dixon (Eddie) Cary, NC and Amy Davis (George) Waldorf, MD. Survived by granddaughters, Bria, Lauren, Simone, Mia and Jordyn and grandson Spencer; also survived by divorcee, Anna Smith. Also survived by two nieces, Curley Adams, Gary, IN, Joyce Anderson Newsom, Arlington, TX and one nephew, George Henderson, New Castle, DE. A number of grand and great grandnieces and grandnephews, and a host of cousins. Known as PopPop and Granddad and FatherLove. Dr. Smith would sing hymns and pray out loud in his later life and moments. He would gather others to improve their lives no matter what start in life they had. He was a believer in second chances and living your life for God. He held a life of servitude to others and a joy forever to his family and friends. His favorite all time saying was, Blessed Be the Ties that Bind, Our hearts in kindred spirits. Amen. What an Angel that has now ascended to Heaven. Forever in our Hearts.

My love and prayers to Angela and Amy. Know that your father was a great man and touched a lot of hearts and minds along the way. I will always remember sitting in the double swing with you all and his gumbo (my first ever). Live his legacy to the fullest.

May you rest in the arms of the Lord who formed you from the dust of the earth. May holy Mary, the angels, and all the saints welcome you now that you have gone forth from this life. Not a day goes by when you are not loved and missed.
