Barb, It has been years but when I heard of Doug's passing (just today 4/7/09) I was compelled to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. You have been in my heart even though we haven't been in touch especially each year when I turn my calendar to November 6th. God Bless ...

Barbara...Although I didn't know you, and never met Doug, we knew each other via this forum, for several years. Doug made everyone laugh, and kept things sane, in an often insane world, here at AzB. That was one of the most beautiful things I have ever read, and it reminds me of how much I love my own wife, Patti, and how we struggle with never knowing which day may be our last. Enjoy love every day you can, for the rest of your life!

God bless Doug "Smorgie" and the Winslow family. In the 11+ years of being on internet billiards forums, both at AZBilliards and earlier on the BD site, Doug was sweet, witty, honest and always brought thoughfullness with a touch of whimsey to his comments. Rest in Peace.

Barbara,

The many messages are just a small indication of the positive impact Doug has had on so many lives. It is traditional to say "he will be missed" at such a time but for few is it truer than for Alan "Douglas" Winslow.

I said something once in support of a new AZBilliards forum member...and Smorgie...Doug...gave me spice in the form of rep and my green squares went from 2 to 11.

He always had a good word...and which was usually very funny...for everyone.

My deepest condolences to Barbara and the rest of the family...and his very many heartfelt friends.

Doug made all of us smile, giggle, spit our coffee out on our keyboards. He provided us with the gift of laughter and always reminded us not to take life, situations, each other, or ourselves too seriously. It just won't be the same without him.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Barbara and the entire Winslow family.

Doug was loved by many who never met him in person but who read his posts on pool forums such as AZ Billiards and appreciated his wit and knowledge of the game of pool. He was helpful to many of us and will be greatly missed. I just wish I had had a chance to meet you in person Doug.

To my wonderful husband. Many thought this marriage might not work due to age or difference in lifestyle. We lived our vows to the fullest. These were the best years of my life and it was all because of you. Your love, devotion, support, uncanny humor and zest for life carried us through each day. You lived each day for my comfort and happiness. You will be missed by all of your family and friends in Tampa and those who loved you in New Orleans. Til we can be together again, I live the life you wanted, in spirit and heart with you in mind.
Anyone having pictures are encouraged to send them to my e-mail. I would like to view them. Doug wished that contributions be made to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers. Please view his Tribute page and enjoy.
I love you man....IMO
