Albert Anthony Obituary
Shortly before midnight on February 27, 2025, Albert J. Anthony, DMD passed at the age of 93, with his beloved niece, Linda McManus by his side. Dr. Anthony was born at the home of his parents, Albert Anthony and Mary Anthony, on June 29, 1931, in West Boylston, Massachusetts. After graduating from Boston University in 1953, Dr. Anthony received his doctorate from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1956, and joined the United States Army, being honorably discharged as a captain in 1956. Thereafter, Dr. Anthony returned to his hometown, where he purchased an old schoolhouse as the home of his dental practice. The building was transformed with the assistance of his father and other family members. Dr. Anthony's practice included a distinction for the first successful tooth transplant, in the 1960s. Dr. Anthony also owned and operated a cattle farm for a number of years, with considerable assistance of family members.
Dr. Anthony was predeceased by his parents, as well as his siblings, Mary Mulcahy, Loretta Kittredge, and Dolores DuPont. Dr. Anthony leaves behind his son, John Albert Anthony and daughter-in-law Stephenie B. Anthony, of Tampa, Florida; his daughter, Marie Anthony of Boston, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Alexander L. Anthony, Emily H. Anthony, Elizabeth M. Anthony, Abigail M. Anthony, and Nicholas R. Anthony of Tampa, Florida, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and their children.
A funeral mass will be held at 9 am Monday, March 10, 2025 at St. Anastasia Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. Burial at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, 4202 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610 at 2 pm on Friday, March 14, 2025.

Such fond memories of my childhood growing up in West Boylston, MA w/ my best friends John Anthony and Ed Been! Dr. Anthony was also our family's dentist - and took great care of us (I still have a couple of original silver cavity fillings - from the 1960's). Dr. A always kept a kind and patient demeanor throughout all of our many crazy antics. He was dearly loved and will be dearly missed!
