Alice Troy Obituary

TROY, Alice L. 95, passed peacefully October 9, 2022. She was born in Buffalo, NY, "on her grandmother's kitchen table." She married the love of her life, John, in 1949. She was proud of their 70 years of marriage. They moved to Florida in 1961 with their three children, Sharon Centanne (Greg), Ken Troy, Kathy Hansen (Steve). She loved her five grandchildren, Anna Centanne (Dewey), Julia Venable (Joe), Katie Centanne, Mike Hansen and Brian Hansen (Tay). Her two great-grandsons, Bradley and Jaxon Bloodworth, brought her so much joy. Known by her doting nieces and nephews as "The World Famous Aunt Alice", she will be greatly missed by all. She was a loving, caring, and thoughtful person, with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed receiving cards in the mail and never missed sending a birthday card to loved ones. "Miss Alice" was director of Jenny's Day School in St. Petersburg for many years. She loved to play cards, read novels, garden, listen to music, and cheer for the Orlando Magic. Alice and John enjoyed dancing to the big bands, and were also founding members of the Left Allemanders Square Dance Club. They belonged to the Honeywell Retirement Club, and Pinellas Deaf Club. Service 10 am, Friday Oct. 14, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinellas Park. AndersonMcQueen.com
