Amy PONZILLO

1976 - 2022

PONZILLO, Amy Marie (Eby) passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022. She sacrificed so much to defeat the ovarian cancer which had battled her for the last four and a half years. And while her body is now lost to us, her soul is forever, and its bright light can never dim. Amy was born in Billings, Montana, August 23, 1976. Inspired by the ocean, Amy became the first Montanan to matriculate at Eckerd College on Florida's Gulf Coast in 1994. She later attended The University of Tampa's John H. Sykes College of Business, earning an MBA with a concentration in Marketing in 2006. As a professional, Amy was an expert marketing, brand and communications strategist who added immeasurable value to the organizations and causes for which she worked. However, Amy's true calling to serve as a beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, animal lover and neighbor to all she met. Amy's fierce determination, love for life, generous nature, enduring courage, and playful, mischievous spirit will always dwell in the hearts and minds of those who adored her. Endowed with a multitude of gifts, none was more precious to Amy than her daughter, Caroline, to whom she has entrusted an abundance of character and faith. Amy will forever be loved by Caroline, as well as her husband, Stephen; her sister, Kerry and brother-in-law, Cory; her parents, Terry and Nancy; Stephen's parents, Steve and Christine; her sister-in-law, Samantha; her dearest Eckerd friends, Julie, Kristen, Kate and Jamie; her rescued beagle, Dolly Waffle; as well as an ever-expanding circle of family-and friends who feel like family, from across the country. A memorial service is planned for 10:30 am, Monday, August 8, at Fox Hall on the campus of Eckerd College, 4200 54th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, Florida 33711.
