Billy Peyton Obituary

PEYTON, Billy Bruce, 85, of Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away August 23, 2009, in Dade City, Fla. He was born March 8, 1924, in Paducah, Ky., to Andy and Estelle (Church) Peyton and came to Zephyrhills in 1980 from Paducah. Mr. Peyton was a U.S. Army/Air Force veteran and a prisoner of war during World War II. He was a policeman and officer. Mr. Payton was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Thonotosassa. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Peyton of Zephyrhills; brother, Jimmy Peyton of Georgetown, Ky.; daughter, Jeanie Gooud of Paducah; two stepsons, Michael McNulty of St. Thomas Ontario, Canada, and Irvine O' Hara of London Ontario, Canada; five stepdaughters, Sandra Knecht of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Debbie Brewer of Ingersol Ontario, Canada, Patricia Jones-Hall and Karen Dunn, both of Woodstock Ontario, Canada and Sharon Hewitt of Vancover British Columbia, Canada; 30-plus grand-children; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will take place 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 13515 N. U.S. Highway 301, Thonotosassa. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hernando Pasco Hospice, 37445 Clinton Avenue, Dade City, FL 33525.
