Catherine Teresa "Kittie" GREENE

GREENE, Catherine Teresa "Kittie" age 81, of Tampa (Car-rollwood), pas-sed away Jan. 8, 2014 at Sun-coast Hospice. She was a den mother in the Cub Scouts; a Sunday school teacher because there was a need; a Red Cross worker; an award winning sculptress and painter. She learned to speak, read and write Danish to speak with her Danish family after our first visit, at age 38. At age 50, she went down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. She rented a houseboat as a getaway for us and so she could have her own space. She was the star of our self-produced movies: The Settlers & Water Safety. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Catherine never knew a stranger and her kind spirit will remain forever in our hearts. Catherine is survived by Edward, her loving husband of 58 plus years; as well as 2 sons, Michael and Shawn; sister Mary; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 9 nieces and nephews and many friends. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Teresa and John; her brother, Conrad; her sons Edward and Daniel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local Hospice. Suncoast Hospice was very nice to us. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 18 at 3 pm at Dobies Funeral Home, Tarpon Springs. "10", our darling Catherine; you'll be with us always.
