The world may seem a little dimmer as it recently lost a bright light.
Charlotte Rae Alexander passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 surrounded by loved ones at home. She was 81 years old.
Charlotte was born to Clarence and Velma Buchanan on November 11, 1939 in San Antonio where she graduated from Harlandale High School.
Spending time with family and friends was one of her favorite pastimes, but it's her smile and heartfelt laughter that will be missed the most. She was a ray of sunshine and had a heart of gold.
Charlotte always saw the bright side of life, offered warm hugs, and enjoyed sharing a meal with a friend. While loved ones mourn her loss, they celebrate the life she led and are encouraged by the knowledge that she is in the presence of God, family and friends.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, husband, D. T. Payton and granddaughter, Stephanie. She is survived by her children, Tammy, Don, Mitzy and Terry, cousin Doris, grandchildren, Brandi, Jacob, Jenna, Shauna, Brooke and Bobby, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her honor.
