4/14 An outstanding young man has gone to be with the Lord early this morning. Deputy Dan DiCicco it was an honor to serve with you. I guess the Lord needed more heroes in heaven. Rest in Peace, Brother, you will be dearly missed.

Dan was a part of many families besides the one he was born into- his school family, scout family, sport family and his sheriff office family. He formed caring relationships in each of these families and Monday they all came together to honor the inspirational man he was. Words cannot express what your support has meant to us as we struggle with his loss. Our family is so grateful for the outpouring of love, the sharing of memories, the hugs and even the tears. We are trying to be as brave as he was when faced with adversity. We were honored to be his family. As we move forward, I think his squad said it best with their ribbon- WWDD- What Would Dan Do? Take a piece of Dan's heart with you and pass it on- a big squeeze....a smile...a kindness..take life's challenges bravely...do not complain about the mountains...move them...take the time to make someone feel special...That will keep his light shining. To one of the greatest men I knew. I miss you and you will be missed by each person you touched. However, I know on earth you accomplished more than what most people do in a lifetime. You have touched so many lives by just being you with no motive but kindness. I am very blessed to have had an amazing time with you and our friends. You have a job to do in heaven now, there is no doubt you are an angel. Words cannot describe how great you are! You left a legacy behind. Everyone who knew Danny is devastated by his passing. Please do not ask God why He took him so soon- give Him tanks for the 29 years we had with him. Do not blame the chemo or radiation - that gave him 11 more years to live his dream as a deputy sheriff and SWAT operator. Danny, I can't begin to explain how much you meant to me. You never once brought a negative moment to my life and did nothing but motivate me to be a better man. I will never forget what you did for me in helping get me hired at the S.O. You always had the right answer or the right advice when I needed it, and had the greatest way of helping me whenever I needed it. I will never forget our crazy gym sessions, or every Thursday when I'd come over to watch Its Always Sunny and the League, or texting you about what I did at the academy each day and how I was doing. I will always cherish the Lightning game you took me to days before you passes...That was you, always giving and treating me like your own little brother. I'll never forget just hanging out with you and Everett and the shenanigans we'd get in...I'll never forget you and will live for you and use your life and our friendship to push me everyday and get me through and finish this thing...I love you brother.

Rest in peace to my highs school classmate/teammate/brother Dan DiCicco. Danny was a great guy with a big heart. No matter who he came in contact with, he had a major impact on that perrson's life and I can say the same for me. I am ever so grateful that God gave me the chance to meet Danny in 9th grade. Danny, I will never forget what you did for me that night I ran into you downtown after not seeing each other for 10 years.I will never forget the talk we had out on your balcony that night when you casually threw it out there that you beat cancer. I made you scream it from the balcony because I didn't think you gave yourself enough credit. You inspired and amazed me that night. You continued to inspire me as I began my career as a cop. I didn't keep up with Danny much after he moved on from Boy Scout Troop 334 where we were both Scouts, but he left an impression on me even in the few years I knew him. From the day I met you in Italy at only 19 yrs old, I fell madly in love and knew you were the only one. They all called us crazy when, just a few months later, I transferred schools and moved over 1,000 miles away to be with you. It was the best decision I ever made. You were my rock, my north star. I felt like I could accomplish anything with you by my side. Although we will never have the chance to have a family and grow old together, like we'd always planned, I'm grateful for the 8 years I got to spend with you. You are, and always will be the love of my life. I miss you more with each passing day. I will carry you in my heart until we can be together again. Forever and ever babe.
To Cheryl and Paul, thank you for raising him to be the man that he was. He was truly one of a kind. My happiest memories are the times I spent with Danny and the DiCicco family and I will cherish them always.

Danny, I miss you so much. I know that you are in a better place and that you are being taken care of by my mom and our other family members, but it is hard knowing that I'm not going to have my cousin picking on me anymore or that I'm not going to hear you call me " Schmennifer". I will miss all those great big suffocating hugs and your smiles. You always had my back and I love you dearly!!! Love you always!!!

Hey Dan, it's Les. I've seen how much of a real man you've become. Listening to everyone tell stories about you did not surprise me. I could see it all along!! The little times we've spent together will be kept between us because everyone has there own. We can all smile because we all know they broke the mold when you were born.
