I was so saddened to learn of David's passing, he was a friend, an accountant, and a genuinely funny guy. His outlook was always bright despite any difficulties. I know how much he enjoyed his "changing horses in midstream" and going into nursing from accounting but still keeping his finger in "the books". He will be missed and our deepest sympathies to his mom and Sarah and the rest of his extended family. Jan and I will keep you in our thoughts.

Death, be not proud

Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.
Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.

Dear Sarah, Rose and Danny,
Our deepest sympathy in the passing of a great man. He could make you laugh when you needed it the most. He was always there to lend an ear or give a helping hand. Dave was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back if it would help. He will be missed by many people including Bruce and I as well as our family. It was great knowing your father, son and brother. God Bless you all and may the good memories help ease your pain and sorrow.

Miss Me, But Let Me Go
Author Unknown

When I come to the end of the road,
and the sun has set for me.
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little—but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that was once shared.
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone.
It’s all a part of the master’s plan, a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know.
Bear your sorrow in good deeds. Miss me, but let me go.

David you have been my best friend from the time we met some twenty years ago. I will always remember you with a smile and I will always think of you doing what you loved best-fishing, telling stories, and thinking about building that chicken coop and pigpen.

We were lucky to be a friend of David's, he was a wonderful, caring, understanding, compassionate, loving dear friend, personally and in business and was always happy to see him when he wasnt working late nites at the hospital and he could actually attend the different social functions me and my family members had and let his hair down a little and laugh and tell all of his jokes!! My immediate family and also extended family members whom he got to know thru his accounting are all deeply saddened of this tragic news of his passing but will always remember him with fond memories and sorrow goes to this family.

The sorrow of the faithful
is not that of permanent loss,
but the tender sense of sadness
that comes in saying good-bye for now
to someone we love.
May today's sorrow give way
to the peace and
comfort of God's love.

Dave was part of our family at Sunline Casters and will be deeply missed, not only for his services, but for his true friendship.

Warm Summer Sun

Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

I have worked nights with Dave at Largo for many years and thought of him as a dad. Im going to miss him eating his spaghetti at night and patting his belly and saying what a good cook he was! We talked many nights about his beloved "Virginia" and how proud he was of Sarah. He could always find a way to make me or anyone else smile. I guess I could go on and on about all the things Ill miss about working with him .I know things will never be the same without him on 2b to talk to and work with.
