David Schulz Obituary

SCHULZ, David P. 78, passed away Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, under the care of his family and the devoted nurses and staff of the Springs of South Pasadena. Dave was born March 6, 1930, in Swissvale, PA, to a close and loving family. Dave moved to St. Petersburg in 1951. He was a combat veteran of the Korean War and 20 year member of the St. Petersburg Police Department. Dave retired as a Sergeant in 1973. He moved to Dunnellon to enjoy his retirement years. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David R. and Patty Schulz of Tampa; grandchildren Marc, Braxton and Bailey Schulz of Tampa; sisters Jeanne Morgan of St. Petersburg, Yvonne Monroe (Monte) of Lake Tahoe, CA and Josephine Ellis (Graydon) of Albuquerque, NM; brother Paul C. Schulz (Brenda); sister-in-law Sonia Schulz of St. Petersburg; stepsons Dan Beverley of Tampa and George Beverley of Virginia; and many nieces, nephews and their families who will all miss his kind words and sense of humor. David was predeceased by his wife, Deanna; brother William A. "Bill" Schulz of St. Petersburg and his parents David R. and Adele F. Schulz of St. Petersburg. The family invites Dave's friends to a celebration of his life on Sunday, Oct. 5th, at Baywalk's Gratzzi Restorante, 199 2nd Ave. N, St. Petersburg, from 4-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Florida Suncoast.

What to say..

I will miss his smile, his sense of Humor, talking about the Bucs and the Rays -We had our annual Football bet.. LOL I will miss being called Sis - he was my Uncle Dave - he will live in my heart forever. I am so blessed and thankful for a FANTASTIC loving family!!

I do know that he and my Dad are hanging out together once again and Grandma is there with them too..

dear paul and all of dave's family, how sorry i was to hear of Dave's passing. he was very dear to everyone who knew him, and he will be missed. i have so many happy, funny memories of the times i had the privilege of sharing with Dave, and i pray that each of you will find the peace that passeth understanding as you deal with your loss. it is hard, and sad to think of one so young having to leave us.
