Don Wendt Obituary

Wendt, Don Forrest "Donny", 50 of Aripeka peacefully set sail from this world on Sunday, March 30, 2008. Born in Edwardsburg, MI on September 7, 1957, he moved to Aripeka in the late 1970's where he ran his Custom Carpentry business, worked as a commercial fisherman and developed his home inspection business. He deeply loved his family, friends and community, and enjoyed nothing more than spending long days adrift in the Gulf of Mexico. He will always be remembered for his great smile, easy laugh and his deep care for those around him. He will be deeply missed by the many who loved him. Survivors include his loving fiance Christine Hughes and step-daughter Taylor Galvin- both of Aripeka, loving niece Patricia Zemke & family of Shady Hills, and all his loving family including sister Pamela Quinn & family of Hernando Beach, brother J. Michael Seuss & family of Hastings, MI, sister Candice Ross & family of Kalamazoo, MI, sister Constance Wendt of South Bend, IN, sister Margaret Taylor & family of Mishakawa, IN, numerous loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and all their families, and many, many dear friends. A sunset memorial service will be held on the bridge in Aripeka on Tuesday, April 15th at 7:00pm. A reception will follow.

Well Donnie, It has been a long hard journey, but now you are at peace. I will always remember you on the first bridge with your tennis racket and ball and you hitting the ball up Hammock Creek and Wizer waiting for you to tell him to go retrieve it. Those were the days my friend. By the Way, you are the only person that called us Annie & Billy!
