Eben Gilbert Obituary

Gilbert, Eben T.

of St. Petersburg, FL passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025 after a brave journey living with Parkinson's Disease. Born in Boston, he attended UMass Amherst before graduating from Johnson & Wales Culinary in 1983. Settling in Springfield, MA, he worked 20 plus years for the Student Prince/Fort Restaurant before relocating to Florida, retiring from Hyatt turned Hilton in Tampa. He was a talented chef and "Encyclopedic Food Guy". A member of the Tai Chi Society of St. Petersburg, he loved all things food related, traveling, puzzles and being outdoors. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Maureen Morris; sisters, Martha Giacalone (David), Barbara Paro (Dan) of New Hampshire; local caregiver/sister-in-law, Theresa Morris; numerous nieces and nephews and their children; and many wonderful and longtime friends across the country. He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Marnee Gilbert of New Hampshire and sister, Dale McRae of Virginia. Services to be held in Peterborough, New Hampshire, with interment there. Memoriam in St. Petersburg to follow. Contributions to The Parkinson's Foundation requested.
