Novinska, Marilyn Kay
FENNIMORE - Marilyn Kay Novinska, age 84, of Fennimore, passed away on Monday morning, April 26, 2021, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on March 5, 1937, in Lancaster, the daughter of Harold and Esther (Gunderson) Fry. After graduating from Fennimore High School, Kay was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Novinska on Sept. 13, 1958, in Fennimore.
Kay was a proud homemaker and enjoyed raising her children. As they got older, she enrolled at the Southwest Technical College and received her degree as a licensed practical nurse. In the late 1970s she worked at the Lancaster Memorial Hospital and later became the plant nurse at Rayovac in Fennimore until retiring in the early 1990s. Kay was a proud grandma and loved supporting her grandchildren.
Together, she and Bob enjoyed their yearly golfing trip to Georgia and met many dear friends throughout those years. Kay loved the simple life: being there for her family and grandchildren, working outside on her lawn and in her flowerbeds, or having coffee with her girlfriends. Kay's heart of gold, along with her warm sense of humor, will be deeply missed.
Kay is survived by her three children, Greg (Courtney) Novinska of Poynette, Sarah Harrington of McFarland and Brian (Jennifer) Novinska of Verona; seven grandchildren, Adam Novinska of Denver, Colo., Noah Novinska of Verona, Justin Harrington of Madison, Jillian Harrington of Milwaukee, Abigail Harrington of McFarland, and Nathan Novinska and Trevor Novinska of Verona; sister-in-law, Lavona Fry of Burnet, Texas; numerous special in-laws on the Novinska side; along with many nieces and nephews.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert, on June 8, 2005; son-in-law, Joe Harrington; and two brothers, David Fry and Delose (Jan) Fry.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 30 at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Fennimore with burial to follow in the church cemetery. At the request of Kay, there will be no formal visitation prior to her memorial Mass. A "Celebration of Kay's life" with food and fellowship will immediately follow the committal service at the HILLTOP BAR AND GRILL in Fennimore. In lieu of plants and flowers a memorial fund is being established in living memory of Kay Novinska. Kay was Bob Brechler's first cousin and her family was a part of our lives. I never thought to ask Kay for daughter, Sarah's address when we talked. Do you have it? Could you email it to me?
