MYERS, Eleanor "Ellie" With heavy hearts the family of Eleanor Wills "Ellie" Myers announces her passing and yet with great joy we also proclaim that she is heaven bound to be with her beloved Lord and the loved ones that have gone on before her. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Ellie passed away in St. Petersburg, FL on August 11th, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Ellie was born in 1935 to her pa rents, Merlin Vincent Wills and Lillian Wills in Pittsburgh, PA and was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, James "Jim" R. Myers and their beautiful daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Sue Myers Swanson, and sister Carol Wills. She is survived by her siblings, Linda Druckenbrod, Suzanne Malek and M.V. Wills, Jr., son James "Jim", daughter in law Melissa W. Myers, her cherished grandchildren Jim Myers, SaraBeth (Chris) Flynn , Peyton (Grace) Swanson and great-grandchildren, Autumn and Jackson Flynn, godson, Reed Rudge as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Ellie earned degrees from Chatham College and Penn State University and became a home economics teacher in Pennsylvania until she and Jim relocated to St. Petersburg in 1967. Ellie was proud to have been one of the first white teachers at 16th St. Middle School, before finishing her career at St. Petersburg High School after 25 years. Ellie was loved by her students and coworkers, and was recognized as one of the foremost instructors in her field. To all who had the honor of knowing our sweet Ellie it was clearly evident that she was a woman who had many talents, skills, interests and positive character traits. She was kind, patient, generous, loving, loyal, and strong. Ellie also loved the Lord with all her heart. In keeping with her devout faith Ellie was an active member of Pasadena Community Church for over 50 years. Ellie served in numerous capacities, teaching many bible classes for both children and adults, serving as the past president of the United Methodist Women, volunteering at the resale shop at PCC, hosting many ladies Circle meetings and actively supporting the Missions ministry of PCC. Ellie was a woman of action and she put feet to her faith by living it out daily in the ways that she loved and served others. She was a sweet woman who loved the Lord and others extraordinarily, a wonderful example to us all. The full obituary and tribute wall may be found at brettfuneralhome.net. A celebration service will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Women or the Food Pantry at Pasadena Community Church. www.brettfuneralhome.net

I´m very sorry for the the loss of Mrs. Myers. I spent many nights at the Myers homes in St. Pete and on Capri isle with Beth in elementary and middle school. Mrs. Myers always cooked the best breakfasts! She treated me as one of the family. I cherish my memories of her.
