I talked with Aunt Ellen for over an hour one day on the phone...she was so sweet and accepting of me after not talking for years...it was around the time her half brother Dan Alger died that we spoke again. She was going to come to his service but decided against it which I understood.
Rewind back quite a few years and I remember staying between Aunt Ellen's and Aunt Barbs for a week...my Mom came and stayed a day or two before we went back home. I remember riding bikes to where either Uncle Dick or Uncle Ira worked, it might have been a newspaper place I'm not quite sure. Life was much more simpler then. I do know I will miss my birthday wishes from Aunt Ellen...I will cherish them forever and my heart hurts because she is gone.
