Evelio GONZALEZ Obituary
GONZALEZ, Evelio Guillermo Jr., 63, passed away Sunday, February 20,
2011, at his home in Oldsmar, Fla. A native of Tampa, he served four years in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from the University of South Florida. He enjoyed photography, scuba diving, cooking and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Carmen; son, Evelio Gonzalez (Amiee); daughter, Adriana Kane (Kevin); mother, Margarita Gonzalez; brother, Roberto Gonzalez; and grand-children, Kristine, Carson, Landon, Laney, Addison and Noah. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 25, with a service beginning at 7 p.m. at Gonzalez Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MS Society or Suncoast Hospice.

Evelio was a very lucky man who had a wonderful wife & family around him until the end of his life. He was a sweet, unassuming man, whose dignity and patience should be an example to all of us who knew him. I will miss seeing him every week, as I did for the past four years. I will always remember him.

I will forever treasure the fact that Evelio was my big Brother, when I look back at all the family vacations we took at the condo's we rented at the beach I smile. I will forever remember the time Evelio was swimming through that large school of tiny fish and one swam into his ear, and Carmen had to remove it with a tweezer. All the scuba diving we did together. All the camping trips we did, and the storm at Key Largo when Carmen asked Evelio if he thought this was fun, it really was. I know that my brother has started the second life of his journey, and we will all be reunited someday.

To my Family,
Though we are thousands of miles apart ,my heart is there with you. I was terribly sorry to learn about the death of Tio Evelio. When we lose someone we love, it seems that time stands still. I have so many great memories of Tio. Going to the beach, camping, and family get togethers . We were truly blessed to have him in our lives. Someone so special can never be forgotten. I was sad to see of Evelio's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. He was a fantastic employee of LRMC and I feel privileged to have worked with him here. Here's a fun memory: Besides all his great photgrpahy work, Evelio was a real trend setter when it came to using computers at work! I know in this day and age that sounds funny, but he had one of our first desk top PCs, a MAC, and helped us generate flyers and other documents we used to have to do in laborious fashion. He taught himself and us how to use this new resource.
