I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads His white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. He is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch Him until, at length, Him hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, He is gone"

Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. He is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as he was when he left your side.
And, he is just as able to bear his load of living freight to his destined port.

His diminished size is in me -- not in His.
And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, His is gone,"
there are other eyes watching Him coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, "Here he Comes

My you family fine Comfort

I still think of Falco as he was in our Eckerd College days, always running full steam ahead. Though we had only stayed in touch intermittently over the years, there are connections made in youth that last a lifetime. I find it ironic that he choose to settle in Clearwater, and after 42 years in St Pete, this year I choose to settle in his hometown of Oak Ridge. While I never had the opportunity to meet you, Darby, my heart and sympathies go out to you and to his children and father. I took the liberty of sharing your Facebook postings with our mutual Eckerd College friends. Blessed be.

I can't believe Falco is gone. My heart is heavy. He was an amazing person...kindhearted, smart, witty, caring...and a committed and passionate volunteer for the American Cancer Society. He was instrumental in the ACS' relationship with the Florida Department of Citrus and credited with developing the Society's first cause-related marekting partnership. You will be deeply missed, Falco.
