Fermin Rodriguez Rivas

RODRIGUEZ RIVAS, Fermin 84, passed away Sept. 26, 2011. He served in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars earning three bronze stars, and he retired as a First Sergeant. He later received a B.S. degree in Education and Spanish at Glassboro State University in New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his son, Alexis; and his wife, Concepcion of 57½years. He is survived by his five children, Annabelle Oquendo (husband, Ray), Melissa Caceres (husband, Jose), Hector (wife, Janet), Nelson (wife, Evelyn), William (wife, Pascale); and 11 grandchildren, Deanna, Marissa, Cristina, Alexandra, Jasmine, Mariel, Eric, Bianca, Gabriel, Cristian, and Abraham. A visitation will be held 68 pm, Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at Stowers Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m, Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at N ativity Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Florida National Cemetery, where he will receive full military honors.
