Cholowski, Frank Theodore

95, died peacefully on March 25, 2026. He was born in Carteret, NJ, on May 7,1930. He led a life of service. He and his brother Michael both served in the military. He served in the Korean War and was awarded the Medal Commendation.

On returning home he continued his life of service to St. Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Carteret, NJ, as a member of choir and church board. He met and married his wife Juliana at church and was married for 57 years. He became a special deputy of the Sheriff's department of Middlesex County in NJ and worked as a prison guard in Rahway State Prison and as a Superior Court Clerk.

They moved to Florida and were active members of St Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church and he served on their board and fulfilling his vow made in Korea to go to church every Sunday.

He is survived by children that he and Julie raised to realize their talents; son, Mark (JD) and his wife, Robin (MBA, MPA); and daughter, Ann Marie (MD, JD); niece, Theresa Klin and her husband Peter; and son, Paul and his wife; sister-in-law, Catherine Lesky Shafer and the many nieces and nephews through marriage.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Anna Kazio and Frank Theodore; his brother, Michael and his wife, Jeanette; beloved in-laws, Anna and Michael Lesky, Stephen and Elsie Lesky, Joseph and Kay Lesky, Sophie and Louis Dempski, Helen and Edwin Maslankowski, George Shaffer and Mary Lesky.

Services will be at: St Michaels Ukrainian Orthodox Church on Thursday, April 2, at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice in particular to a Veteran's organization, hospice, Sheriff Youth Ranch or St Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
