Gerald Albin

1930 - 2021

ALBIN, Gerald L age 91, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, Aug 26, 2021. Gerald was born on May 25, 1930, in New York to Benjamin and Esther (Stenzler) Albin of Austria. Gerry graduated from the Maritime College - State University of NY in 1950 and received an MSIE in 1956 from Columbia University. Gerry's maritime and military service include 3rd Engineer American Export lines; 2nd Engineer Military Sea Transport and USN 1952-1954. His career included Manager of Corporate Planning with Curtiss Wright Corp.-Director of Corporate Planning with Hunt Foods and Industries- AVP of Corporate Planning with the McCall Corporation- VP of American Medicorp and CEO and President of Medfield Corporation building private hospitals in Florida. Gerry spent many sailing including multiple trans Atlantic crossings; sailing the Mediterranean, throughout Europe, and the Caribbean aboard his yachts Audacious I and II. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Yana (Page); two daughters, Stephanie Albin and Cynthia Ihrig. He was preceded in death by his son Lloyd Albin; five grandchildren; Courtney Bennett, her husband Jordan and their two children Kyleigh and Aiden; Courtland Kramer of MI, Yeats , Oliver, and Amelia Ihrig.
