Herbert COPES Obituary

COPES, Herbert Barton

73, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 in St. Petersburg General Hospital. Herb was born and raised in Pinellas Park, FL and was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert and Edna (Cox) Copes. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Marion (Cookie) Waldspurger Copes; an older brother, John R (Bob) Copes; and a younger sister, Marie Copes Konnen; four sons; Bryan, Randy, Aaron and Larry; one granddaughter, Mackenzie; and two grandsons; Evan and Alex. After graduating from Dixie Hollins High School, Herb worked for many years at Newspaper Printing, Anderson Printing and Sun & Fun Printing in Pinellas Park. He has been a member of the Local Ham Radio Club for the past 30 years; - Call Sign WE4HC and served as President of the Pinellas Park-Park Dance Reunion Committee. Herb's hobby for many years was showing his red and white 56 Chevy at local car shows, winning him numerous 1st place and Best in Show trophies. Services for Herb Copes will be announced at a later date.

A memorial service is planned for noon on Thursday, June 29th at the Pinellas Park auditorium at 7690 59th Street, Pinellas Park, Florida for family and friends.

Herb was like a dad to me I wish I could of been there to see him one last time we worked together in the late 90s and had been friends eversince went to wrestling matches and got steaks and bbq miss you buddy
