Listening to music this morning, I heard pieces by baroque composer Ignacio de Jerusalem and my mind went to my old classmate and buddy Ignazio Zambito, whom we knew as Nick.
So I looked him up on the Internet and was sorry to learn that he had passed. He lived on St. Johns Place in Brooklyn and I knew his parents as well. His mom was very kind, open minded and generous to Nick. I recall the many days I spent with him and other neighborhood pals on the stoop of his apartment building. He was a good pal and I missed him when he and his parents left for Florida. I have a photo of us in a group shot of our graduation class of 1945, which I am unable to include here. He is 2nd from left on the 3rd row from the top. I am 3rd from the right on the top row. If you would like to have this photo, I can send it to you by E-mail. My E-mail address is [email protected]. I am also on Facebook.
