This is a poem I wrote about Jack around 3 years ago and gave to Jeff.
SEARCHING FOR A SMILE
As I walk through the halls I search for a smile
As I walk through the halls I see sorrow and weakness
As I walk through the halls I search for a smile
As I walk through the halls I see emptiness and pain
As I walk through the halls I hear crying and confusion
I keep searching the halls for a smile nothing but strangers I see, I search for a smile.
pushing the man I wished I had known better I search for a smile, looking up at me he smiles, I search no more..
Jack you have touched my life in many ways and I will miss you dearly.

I'm Still Here
Friend, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
And within your heart I long to stay.
My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
As long as you keep me alive in your heart.
I'll never wander out of your sight-
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach-
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.
I'm the colorful leaves when Autumn's around
And the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.
I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
And you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.
When you start thinking there's no one to love you,
You can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
And you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.
I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
And the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.
Just look for me, friend, I'm every place!

Jeff and Family,
My dad and I send our sympathies and prayers to you and your family. I am glad we had the opportunity to meet your father briefly when you brought him by our shop a few years ago. He was a very sweet man who will be surely missed by his family and friends. My admiration goes out to all of you who gave so much time, love and care to your father as his days grew shorter. God bless.

Your gentle face and patient smile, With sadness we recall, You had a kindly word for each, And died beloved by all. The voice is mute and stilled the heart, That loved us well and true, Ah, bitter was the trial to part, From one so good as you. You are not forgotten loved one, Nor will you ever be, As long as life and memory last We will remember thee, We miss you now, our hearts are sore, As time goes by we will miss you more, Your loving smile, your gentle face, No one can fill your vacant place.... Miss you Mr. Finneran, you have been in my life since I've was a little girl, grew up with you as a parent type, Love and Miss you, and so glad you and Mrs. Clara are together again...I will pray for your children, but know they are all strong kids, thanks to you and Mrs. Clara. You will be missed.. Barbara Carrell

Everything both life and death are in God's hands, and I feel truly blessed to have had both my parents as long as I did. My parents paved the road to christianity for their children. They have given all their children something that money cannot buy. Even though I will miss them dearly, I will see them each day in the beauty that God has created. On sunny days when I look to the skies and watch the clouds blow by, I will see your smiling faces looking down at me. When the rain comes falling down I will know that each drop are their tears of joy. When I see the colors of a beautiful sunset, I will know that you painted it for us to enjoy. When night falls I will know that you too are resting in the hands of our glorious Lord. Mom and Dad, I know that you will be watching over us until we meet again. Thank you God for keeping my parents. Your loving Son, Jeff

Our memories of dining with you at different restaurants were very enjoyable to see you spending quality time with Jeff, Dianne, my Wife Marty and me. I observed how fiesty you were, possessing a hand shake like a vise, which shows a man of great Character, strength and discipline! Our time on earth is just like the flash of a lightrning bolt in God's time! Jack my friend, You have left the legacy of a beautiful family, and in your lifetime have accomplish much more than most people! You will be missed my Friend, and it is my prayer that You Rest In Peace with all of God's Amgels.

You didn't die just recently,
You died some time ago.
Although your body stayed a while,
And didn't really know.
For you had got Altzheimer's,
You failed to comprehend.
Your body went on living.
But your mind had reached its end.
So we've already said, "Goodbye",
To the person that we knew.
The person that we trully loved,
The person that was, "You".
And so we meet again today,
To toast your bodies end.
For it was true and faithful,
Until right at the end.
And so, when we remember,
We'll think of all the rest.
We'll concentrate on earlier,
And remember all the best.
For in the real scheme of things,
Your illness wasn't long.
Compared to all the happiness,
You brought your whole life long.
We think of you as yesterday,
When you were fit and well.
And when we're asked about you,
It's those things that we'll tell.
And so we meet in 'membrance,
Of a mind so fit and true.
We're here to pay our last respects
To say that, "We love you".

Even though I only had Jack in my life for a short time the memories will remain with me for a life time.
My heart is bitter-sweet, full of sadness because I will truly miss Jack with those blue eyes and a smile that warmed your heart, and happiness knowing he is with our Lord and his wife.
I pray for healing and peace for the family and friends that love Jack as I do.
God Bless

Our father and mother will always be remembered for putting others before themselves. Strong morales, compassion for others and work ethic that has been passed on down to all their children. Jack was able to share his love for people and life with others in his last years here on earth without the ability to talk. The love of caring parents has no price and because of them their children are rich beyond any measure. God Bless all those who knew our parents and we will all be together again in our eternal home in Heaven. Dale and Debbie

My Dad my Hero. I'm so thankful to have you as my example. You always had a listening ear never judging me. No matter how small you appeared you were very large in life, pride, and morales. I will always have you and Mom in my heart. Love Cheryl

Uncle Chuck,
You made me smile! You mentored me in life - you watched over me like one of your own. A few words cannot express the many feelings I have for you. Go be with Aunt Clara - We will join you soon for more adventures.
Love you,
David and Shari
