To the dungy family so very sadden of your loss. I've read the many gre8 things that were said about your son. I've had the pleasure to meet James one very hot summer day he was wit his entire family. Rembering MS Dungy asking me am I ok it was very hot out that day and she thought enough to ask that was so very nice of her. But a LNG story short I was more just in Awww of meetin the dungy family than it being hot and waitin on my ride all of the kids WER so very welled mannered and so respectful and I remember James smile that's a smile that I can never forget. So I say that you's the dungy family for putting God and family first. Always know that James is so free no worries no cares and most of all he's wit a greater person than u and I so stay blessed and know that u will see him again heaven awaits James he's here wit u all as you go thru life's journey and so is GOD. May god bless you and keep you. Amen
I will always remember this tribute from Gaither High.....

To the family of James Dungy,
So sorry for your loss.
James dramatic smile captivated me to express my Sympathy to the family.
One day soon, that winning smile will be admired by many again.

As my family enters the new year with a broken heart over the tragic and untimely loss of our 22 year old loved one we too grieve for the loss of other lost souls that made an impact in our daily lives.
Our prayers are with you as we also march on to make a positive attempt at making this world a brighter tomorrow in the upbringing of our future - our children.
Peace and understanding seems unreachable at this time, but our faith in God will carry us through our sorrow.
In loving memory.

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

i remember the day i met james, he went to school at gaither high school, in tampa florida... i remember coming home one day and seeing a silver mercedez convertable parked in the driveway w/ a colts tag on the front..? at first i was thinking who's this person? as i got upstairs james standing 6'6 was talking to my older brother and he gave him a colts football cap i talked to him and he seemed real cool.. real sociable and smiling alot.. i thought how unique it was for him to have a father in the nfl as a coach and hes' just a normal down to earth teen... i give much respect to the dungy family! even to this day! the time of james' death tony came to tampa and i was working at a pizza hut and he walked in to pick up a pizza and he looked as if he hadnt slept in days bloodshot eyes looking miserable i felt so in shock to see him and at the same time so hurt.. i support the dungy family and many of you should also..!

Dear Dungy Family,
I would like to thank all of you for providing the world with a "family" role model. I am truly sorry for your loss of Jamie. He his home now with God. May peace be with him as well as your family. I would also like to express my thanks to Coach Dungy for writing his book, Quiet Strength. I have been a football fan since I was 14. A Vikings fan on top of that and I have followed the Coach's career from a football perspective since he was with the Vikings. The book has given me insight into the "Christen Coaching Style", if you will, that Coach Dungy utilizes. This has enriched my faith in God and has helped me to look at life differently, from God's perspective, if that's possible. Everything happens in His time and on His agenda. I would like to thank you for inspiring me to be a better daughter of Christ. Your family will always be in my prayers.

My sister and her husband from Indy lost their son unexpectedly Feb. 1st, 2007. Your Christian witness has been magnified and multiplied since your loss, Tony and family. So many hearts were touched by your integrity and unshakeable faith. I find it strange that I accidentally came upon your website today while researching Kathryn Kuhlman's ministry in Pittsburgh in the 1950's. Now must be the time to send you the thoughts I have had since your loss and to tell you how proud we are to count you as brothers and sisters in Christ. A dear Korean couple from our International Fellowship class at Idlewild gave me a small piece of paper they wrote this quote on a couple of years ago. I keep the quote by our computer: "Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 I hope this quote also brings you comfort today and in the days ahead.

CONGRATS are a never too late, I prayed for this Win last year but it came a year later. My heart was split in 2, being a Patriots fan but we felt as winners because of one family that is admired and loved here in the Tampa area - Coach Dungy and his Family. Your son James is smiling with you in the field and his presence will be there to celebrate your SUPER BOWL WIN. We are cheering for you, Manning - Your Team deserves to win. Last Sunday's game with the Patriots was a Great Game, that was our Super Bowl and to our eyes, you already WON. You are one of the best Coaches. God Bless you and your family for honoring him.

Dear Dungy Family,
You all have been in my prayers. I wrestled personally with how this could happen to a family member of devout Christians. I am recently finding peace with it and total trust in our Savior Jesus Christ. To this day, I haven't forgotten your press conference thanking God for the years you had with your son. That is one of the most amazing testimonies of faith I have ever seen displayed. It seems so easy in life to doubt or fear to a certain degree. I would just like to say that you are an incredible man and father. As it is father's day, I would like to say that any son would be blessed to have you as a father. God bless, continue to serve our king, and I will see you in heaven one day!

Dear Dungy Family:
I cannot begin to solace you for your loss. To one day awake, and find such a gapping hole in one's daily life could spell disaster, if you let it.
I'm just a small time girl, no real religious background, I've never been to church, but I do know one thing.....they're never really gone.
You quickly look over your shoulder and he will be there fresh in your mind. You may hear his voice as you listen to the radio.
Your memories, and these small events are the most precious. I truly believe an individual is never really gone. You have them wrapped up in warm memories that no one can take away.
Love deeper, laugh harder, and always remember James with a sense of joy, not loss. I'm sure that James would want his family to continue on their journey with strength and his blessing.
My deepest regards.

Mr. and Mrs. Dungy:
May the Lord who gave you the gift of your son James continue to strengthen your faith and provide you with comfort in the coming days.
Mr. Dungy, your faith is a testimony to all parents of how critical it is to pray for our children and grandchildren and lto ead them to Christ while we have them here on earth. It brings joy to know that your son James has achieved the ultimate healing.
Praying and thinking about all of you.
Maria
