To the dungy family so very sadden of your loss. I've read the many gre8 things that were said about your son. I've had the pleasure to meet James one very hot summer day he was wit his entire family. Rembering MS Dungy asking me am I ok it was very hot out that day and she thought enough to ask that was so very nice of her. But a LNG story short I was more just in Awww of meetin the dungy family than it being hot and waitin on my ride all of the kids WER so very welled mannered and so respectful and I remember James smile that's a smile that I can never forget. So I say that you's the dungy family for putting God and family first. Always know that James is so free no worries no cares and most of all he's wit a greater person than u and I so stay blessed and know that u will see him again heaven awaits James he's here wit u all as you go thru life's journey and so is GOD. May god bless you and keep you. Amen

As my family enters the new year with a broken heart over the tragic and untimely loss of our 22 year old loved one we too grieve for the loss of other lost souls that made an impact in our daily lives.

i remember the day i met james, he went to school at gaither high school, in tampa florida... i remember coming home one day and seeing a silver mercedez convertable parked in the driveway w/ a colts tag on the front..? at first i was thinking who's this person? as i got upstairs james standing 6'6 was talking to my older brother and he gave him a colts football cap i talked to him and he seemed real cool.. real sociable and smiling alot.. i thought how unique it was for him to have a father in the nfl as a coach and hes' just a normal down to earth teen... i give much respect to the dungy family! even to this day! the time of james' death tony came to tampa and i was working at a pizza hut and he walked in to pick up a pizza and he looked as if he hadnt slept in days bloodshot eyes looking miserable i felt so in shock to see him and at the same time so hurt.. i support the dungy family and many of you should also..!

I would like to thank all of you for providing the world with a "family" role model. I am truly sorry for your loss of Jamie. He his home now with God. May peace be with him as well as your family. I would also like to express my thanks to Coach Dungy for writing his book, Quiet Strength. I have been a football fan since I was 14. A Vikings fan on top of that and I have followed the Coach's career from a football perspective since he was with the Vikings. The book has given me insight into the "Christen Coaching Style", if you will, that Coach Dungy utilizes. This has enriched my faith in God and has helped me to look at life differently, from God's perspective, if that's possible. Everything happens in His time and on His agenda. I find it strange that I accidentally came upon your website today while researching Kathryn Kuhlman's ministry in Pittsburgh in the 1950's. Now must be the time to send you the thoughts I have had since your loss and to tell you how proud we are to count you as brothers and sisters in Christ. A dear Korean couple from our International Fellowship class at Idlewild gave me a small piece of paper they wrote this quote on a couple of years ago. I keep the quote by our computer: "Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 I hope this quote also brings you comfort today and in the days ahead.

You all have been in my prayers. I wrestled personally with how this could happen to a family member of devout Christians. I am recently finding peace with it and total trust in our Savior Jesus Christ. To this day, I haven't forgotten your press conference thanking God for the years you had with your son. That is one of the most amazing testimonies of faith I have ever seen displayed. It seems so easy in life to doubt or fear to a certain degree. I cannot begin to solace you for your loss. To one day awake, and find such a gapping hole in one's daily life could spell disaster, if you let it.
I'm just a small time girl, no real religious background, I've never been to church, but I do know one thing.....they're never really gone.
You quickly look over your shoulder and he will be there fresh in your mind. You may hear his voice as you listen to the radio.
Your memories, and these small events are the most precious. I truly believe an individual is never really gone. You have them wrapped up in warm memories that no one can take away.

On the way, I cried and cried I put myself in Erics position what if that was my brother. I don't know whatt i would do! I prayed for you on Christmas mornig wish and hoping you were happy on Jesus' birthday! I hope you are in peace James and I hope to meet you one day. Today (01/06/06) James is celebrating his birthday in the presence of our Lord. He was an extraordinary human being full of laughter and love. We will remember him forever....and we will always have you and your family in our prayers.
