STOWELL, James Allan "Jimmy"

33, passed away March 2, 2017. Born in Dunedin on May 20, 1983, he was raised in Clearwater, Florida. He graduated from Tarpon Springs High School and was proud to be a member of the basketball team. He also attended St. Petersburg College in Clearwater. James is survived by three daughters he loved very much: Savannah 10, Dakota 4 and Cheyenne 2. He leaves behind his parents, Allan James Stowell of Clearwater and Claudia Birmingham of New Port Richey. James worked as a Certified Personal Trainer and enjoyed working out daily and training others, especially at Operation Par in Clearwater. James also worked as a NATE certified HVAC Technician.

James was indeed a beautiful son. It was very clear how much he loved his girls. The most endearing part of James was the part that was almost child-like; gentle, hopeful, loving and funny. James was talented in writing and speaking ... he loved reading and had many books. His hobby was art ... he was a self-taught artist. He had a gift of drawing and painting. For Christmas 2016, he gifted his parents and girls his artwork on canvas. James also loved music, especially country western songs.

James' Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 25, at 11:30 am at Garden of Grace Ministries Church, located at 2905 Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard, Clearwater, FL 33759. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Operation PAR Inc., 13800 66th Street North, Largo, FL 33771, (727) 538-7245; www.Operation Please sign the online guestbook at

I only met James once when he was in our office with his father doing business. I have worked with his father for years. This is tragic for everyone involved. I am very sorry to hear, and offer my condolences. My sympathy.

James was and always will be my best friend. No matter what he was going through, or where he was, he found a way to call or write. Ever since his mother told me the news, the world has seemed bleak. Words cannot explain his intelligence or depth. I will miss everything about him, especially laughing until it hurt and his smile that made everything better. I am lucky to have boxes filled with his letters, drawings and artwork. I will sing our songs until I have no voice. I will carry him with me for the rest of my life. I know he is at peace and I hope the angels know what they have. "Dream of me, as I dream of you, dancing together, as I sleep."

I met Jimmy in Kindergarten. He came and went over the years... as we all do when we grow up and start families. I reconnected with him last year and found that he'd grown into an extraordinary man. We spent a lot of time together and had deep philosophical conversations as well as light hearted ones. He had a spirituality that was unparalleled. I find comfort in that because I believe that it will carry him now that he has passed. It's the ones left behind that hurt the most I think. My deepest sympathies to his folks and his girls... I hope that they never forget how much he loved them. I'm grateful for the memories I have, especially the recent ones. I will cherish these. Jimmy touched my life in a positive way and I won't soon forget it. Much love!

I first met James in Tampa in 2007. I was going through a difficult time in my life, and James offered me friendship and hope when I needed them both, and desperately. James was creative and extremely talented. He was funny, thoughtful, and dedicated to his child. James was an original, and I will miss him like a son, a brother, and a true friend.
