JEANETTE GOLKA Obituary

GOLKA, Jeanette R., 76, of Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away October 12, 2011, in Tampa. She was born February 7, 1935, in Elba, Neb. Jeanette was a member of the Zephyrhills Red Hat Club and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills. She is survived by her husband, John M. Golka of Zephyrhills; three sons, John P. Golka of Valrico, Fla., Stanley Golka of Land O'Lakes, Fla., and Steven Golka of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; two daughters, Andrea Kellett of Papillion, Neb., and Barbara Gawrick of Lincoln, Neb.; 16 grand-children; four great-grand-children; and a brother, Ransom Talley of Council Bluffs, Iowa. A funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home.

My cousin Jeanette, may she rest in peace. We didn't spend a lot of time together, but I greatly respected who she was and the many efforts she made to do good in the world.
