John Michael "Mike" DeChant Jr.

DeChant, John Michael "Mike", Jr. 77, of Lutz, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, peacefully at home. He was born in New Concord, Ohio, and moved to Florida when he was a child. He was an Investigator for the Florida State Attorney's Office for Pinellas/Pasco Counties. He was a member of "FOP", Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 29. His heart was as wide as he was tall, and to know him, was to love him. He is survived by his wife, Dale, of Lutz; two sons, John Michael DeChant, III "Butch" (Amy), of North Carolina, and Scott Godfrey (Isis) of Florida; one daughter, Joyce Godfrey, of Florida; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
