Judith LEVINE Obituary

75, passed away surrounded by family at Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor on September 29, 2018. After a recent diagnosis of lung cancer, she chose her final act of living with comfort, care, and dignity. Judy was born in Bridgeport, CT and preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Stephen Gerich. She raised a family in York, PA, and later graduated from York College with a B.S. Degree in Education. She relocated to Florida to be near family and dedicated 25 years to the Pinellas County School System, Adult Education Centers. Many of her students knew her as "Miss Judy," and she made a significant difference in their lives, propelling them to earn their General Equivalency High School Diplomas. After retiring, she continued to volunteer as a teacher. Survivors include former spouse and devoted friend, Milton Levine; their daughters, Tracy Lesh (Jun) and Jodi Johnston (Dennis); sister, Annette Olenoski (Bob); and granddaughters, Megan Hoffman (Bobby) and Julia Johnston. A memorial service will be held on October 27 at 10:00 a.m. in the Peacefield Chapel of Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, FL 33759, with a gathering immediately following. Please wear cheerful and colorful clothing in honor of Judy's personality. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Suncoast Hospice or a charity of your choice. https://suncoasthospicefoundation.org.

Thank you for understanding our son, Thomas, and his mental disease. Your encouragement as his teacher made it possible for him to earn his G.E.D.

**********************

Judy, our neighbor and friend, look down and you will see your Druid Oaks family gathered 'round your red crepe myrtle tree. As you rest peacefully as a gentle dove, we send you our love on the wings of a beautiful butterfly through the heart in the sky. Your earthly life was a miracle, and what a journey it has been. God blessed you with many loving kin, and he blessed us all with a good neighbor and friend. Keep the eternal flame burning until we meet again.

Judy gave my daughter, Brittany, self-confidence that she was lacking; and I am so grateful to her for that! We never know the full effect we have on someone, often until much later. My sympathy to the family over their loss of her.

She was the most impressionable teacher I ever had; and she was a very good lady. Even though I didn't go back to school right away, she had a huge impact on my deciding to go back when I did. I am very sorry to hear this news, but so glad she didn't have to suffer a long time.

My sincerest condolences to the Levine Family in the loss of your loved one, Judith Ann, "Judy", and pray you find comfort in Psalms 91:2.

My neighbor, my friend, Judy was the first person to welcome us into Druid Oaks 21yrs. ago. One of the biggest hearts we ever met. Judy never complained, she complemented. Judy left us with an extended family and we send our love and deepest condolences to all. Rest peacefully Judy.
