Lana BRACEWELL

BRACEWELL, Lana Lynn (Norman) 73, died on Thursday, August 25, 2022 in Indian Rocks Beach, FL. She is survived by her husband, Michael Jon Bracewell; three children, Amy Norman Wenditz (née Bracewell), Jerry Daniel Hunt, and Lorna Norman Bracewell; two grandchildren, Landon Jonathan Hunt and Lauren Elizabeth Hunt; and three siblings, Larry Leon Norman, Randy Lee Norman, and Kathy (Kay) Jane Owens (née Norman). Lana was born in Lebanon, Indiana on January 22, 1949 to parents Harry Emerson Norman and Freda Marie Norman (née Dale). In her youth, she attended New Brunswick Church of Christ and Pittsboro Schools. On September 5, 1969, she married Michael, her husband of nearly 53 years. In 1971, Lana graduated from Ball State University and moved with Michael to Florida. Lana started her career as a nurse at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, but spent the bulk of her career as a hospital administrator at Largo Medical Center. She retired in 2008 to care for her mother. Lana was a Christian and avid Bible reader. She was active in many ministries at her church, Grace Christian Fellowship, and participated in Bible Study Fellowship for 22 years. She was also a gifted musician who loved to praise god through song. Lana lived with cancer for over a decade. Though the disease weakened her body, it strengthened her spirit. Her life exemplified the words of the prophet Habakkuk: "Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior." Memorial services will be held at Grace Christian Fellowship in Largo, Florida on Saturday, Sep. 10 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Lana's name to a charity of your choice.
