Laura DUINK Obituary
94, peacefully went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2017 in Dunnellon, FL where she has lived since 1990. Previous to that she and her husband, Russell, owned and operated a mobile home park in Tampa since 1958. They were both active in the Seminole Presbyterian church. A talented artist, she painted in several artist societies near Dunnellon. Born in Jamestown, NY in 1923, Corky studied at Otterbein and Buffalo State Teachers College. She moved with her husband, Russell Duink and their five children to Tampa in 1958. Russell, her husband of 55 years, died in 2001. She is survived by her sister, Miriam Hosack of Bradenton; her children, Scott of Sarasota, Roxanne of Dunnellon, Douglas of Tampa, Charlene Simms of Columbia, SC, and Torrey of New Port Richey. She will also be missed by her eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church or Christian School, 4221 W. Gulf to Lakes Hwy. Lecanto, FL 34461. Memorial services will be held at Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017 at 12:15 pm. I knew Corky from the Art Center- a wonderful woman, so talented, generous, and free spirited. I sketched at her home on the river, enjoyed her beautiful paintings. She will be missed.
