Linda SHETTER Obituary

SHETTER, Linda Lee 72, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 1, 2024 at her daughter's home. Born August 17, 1951, in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Edith Lucille (Newingham) Russell and Chester Leroy Russell. Linda was a 1969 graduate of Chambersburg Senior High School. She obtained her Respiratory National Board Certification in 1975. Prior to moving to Florida, Linda was employed as a respiratory therapist for 23 years at the Chambersburg Area Hospital and served eight years as the Pennsylvania Territory Manager at a home health care company. After relocating to St. Petersburg, Florida, she was employed over ten years at Edward White Hospital and worked on a per diem basis at St. Anthony's Hospital. She was loved by her patients and known for her caring bedside manner. Although she loved Pennsylvania mountains, snowy winters, skiing, and attending the U.S. Open in New York City, Linda moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 2004 to focus her love and attention on her only daughter and two grandchildren. She was an avid reader who enjoyed current events, yoga, walks in the woods, and hitting the beach with her Golden Retriever, Macy. A beloved mother and grandmother (known as "Grammy"), she will be missed dearly. She is survived by her only child, Melissa (wife of Rob) Byers; and grandchildren, Maya and Noah Byers of St. Petersburg; brother, David (husband of Dana) Russell of Shippensburg, PA; an uncle, Ronald (husband of Carol) Russell of Red Lion, PA; and loving nieces and nephews. Condolences can be shared with the family online by visiting the guest book at www.brettfuneralhome.net. Additional memorial service details online also.
