Louis McClure Obituary

McCLURE, Louis C., 86, of Tampa, passed away June 12, 2005. Louis was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Gracye Cralle. He was employed as a flight instructor in Nassau, Bahamas. In 1940, he received a direct commission as a flying officer in he Royal Canadian Air Force. In 1942, he transferred to the U.S. Army Air Force as a B-29 bomber pilot. Louis was in the investment business for 30 years as owner of Louis C. McClure & Co., and later resident manager of Shearson, Hammill & Co. He was a past member of The University Club of Tampa and Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, and a member of the Tampa Yacht and Country Club. He is survived by his son, Ray C. McClure, and wife, Anita, and grandsons, Ross and Danny, of Tellico Plains, Tenn.; daughter, Lela L. McClure; and sister-in-law, Jane Cralle Hall-Witt of Tampa. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005, at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, with the Rev. Randall Hehr of St. John's Episcopal Church officiating. In li eu of flowers, the family wishes donations to The Henry B. Plant Museum, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33606, St. John's Episcopal Memorial Fund, 906 S.
